Trigeminal neuralgia is the most common cranial nerve disease. The main clinical characteristic is recurrent paroxysmal intense pain at unilateral facial trigeminal nerve distribution area. It often occurs in the middle-aged and old people, right more than left. Talking, washing face, brushing teeth blowing by breeze, and even walking can trigger the paroxysmal severe pain in the facial trigeminal nerve distribution area. The pain usually lasts a few seconds or minutes, attacks periodically. Patients always feel like normal at interictal period. |
